Description
Description of single axis stepper motor controller with driver:
The single-axis stepper motor controller with driver is, as the name suggests, a controller and driver in one module. Therefore, we do not need an additional stepper motor driver. Either a 2-phase 4-wire stepper motor or a 4-phase 5-wire stepper motor can be easily connected to it, the rated current of the stepper motor must be ≤ 800mA. The module enables different modes of operation, which can be easily selected by installing the appropriate jumpers. The distance/speed can be set and the length of movement can be limited with the brake switches.

How to use single axis stepper motor controller with driver?
-
Working mode 1:
S1 on/off button, S2 forward/reverse button, W2 speed control potentiometer. If we want the motor to change the direction of rotation when it reaches the end position, we connect two limit switches to pin P3; the stepper motor will thus move between these two limit switches.
-
Working mode 2:
Press button S1 to start rotation of the stepper motor in one direction, S2 to start rotation in the opposite direction. Click any button again to stop. We regulate the speed with potentiometer W2. If we need to stop the motor at the end position, then we connect two limit switches to pin P3; the motor will stop when it touches the limit switch; the rotation is restarted by pressing the button for rotation in the opposite direction.
-
Working mode 3 (Jog mode):
Press and hold button S1 to start rotation in one direction, S2 to start rotation in the opposite direction. When S1 or S2 is released, the stepper motor stops. We regulate the speed with potentiometer W2. If we need to stop the motor at the end position, then we connect a limit switch to pin P3.
-
Operating mode 4 (Automatic round-trip mode):
Use the S1 (one direction) or S2 (opposite direction) button to start rotation. We regulate the speed with potentiometer W2. With potentiometer W1, we regulate the number of steps that the stepper motor takes in one direction. After taking the intended number of steps, it stops and starts spinning in the opposite direction. When it reaches the expected number of steps in this direction, it stops again and changes the direction of rotation.
