Description
The Makerbase TMC2160-OC stepper motor driver is very similar TB6600 as far as current and supply voltage are concerned. However, unlike the TB6600, the TMC2160-OC allows for much quieter operation of stepper motors, with less vibration and less overheating, especially in StealthChop mode, which can be selected with DIP switches.
TMC2160-OC stepper motor driver and its features
- A series of TMC drivers with mute function
- Enables StealthChop™* and SpreadCycle™* operating modes selectable via DIP switches
- Minimum current 2.30 A, maximum current 4.33 A
- It produces little heat and has efficient cooling
- Simple setting of microsteps via DIP switch, maximum 64 microsteps
- Optically isolated signals
- It supports 8-40 VDC power supply, we recommend using less than 35 VDC to ensure safety.
*In general, the SpreadCycle mode of operation provides greater torque and greater positional accuracy than the StealthChop mode. However, StealthChop mode can make the motors run much quieter in some cases.
