Description
Introduction
The 23HS6620 is a two-phase Nema 23 stepper motor 1.2Nm with a step angle of 1.8° (200 steps/rev). Each phase draws 2.0 A at 2.8 V, which enables a holding torque of 1.2 Nm. The motor has six color-coded wires: black, green, and yellow represent one coil, and red, blue, and white represent the other. We use the 23HS6620 stepper motor to control it stepper motor driver.
How to connect 23HS6620 Nema 23 step motor 1.2Nm with a driver?
The 23HS6620 stepper motor can be connected in a bipolar or unipolar configuration. For a unipolar configuration you must use all 6 wires, while for a bipolar configuration you only use 4 wires. Depending on which 4 wires you use, you can achieve two different modes of operation; choose the one that suits your requirements:
- To achieve higher torque (1.26Nm) but at lower speed: Black: A+, Green: A-, Red: B+, Blue: B-, Yellow and White we do not connect anywhere.
- To achieve lower torque (0.90Nm) but higher speeds: Black: A+; Yellow: A-; Red: B+; White: B-, Greens and Blue we do not connect anywhere.
Bipolar stepper motors require a special driver circuit called an H bridge. 23HS6620 Nema 23 Bipolar Stepper Motor 1.2Nm is compatible with TB6600 driver and to the DM542 driver. We recommend it 24 V switching power supply or 36 V switching power supply.
